Fundraising and Teaching
This year 2 local boys, Ali (11) and Mahdi (6), have been collecting funds for the Foodbank while also raising awareness of the Foodbank and the work we do.
Each year, Ali & Mahdi, raise money over Christmas for a worthy cause and this year was for the Foodbank. By creating a poster promoting what a foodbank does and why they are needed, they went around teaching people the importance of foodbanks to those in need. By giving a small talk to their community members and fundraising at Wisbech Surgery, where their father works as a Dr, they have managed to raise £630 for Bourne Foodbank. This started with a ‘Charity begins at home’ approach, with both the boys donating from their own pocket money and then the bank of Mom & Dad followed by friend and family.
Previously, they have raised money for sick children in hospital, the homeless in Wisbech and also for their local Mosque in Peterborough. We would like to thank Ali & Mahdi for their efforts and hope they go on helping out in the community in future years with the support of their family, friends and staff at Wisbech Surgery.
