Santa Came to Town
On behalf of Bourne Foodbank and Bourne Lions, I would like to publicly thank Danny Cooke, who bravely did a lone Santa walk around the streets of Bourne leading up to Christmas, Danny not only uplifted the spirit of our community by bringing that Christmas joy to us all, but he also raised funds to support local charities such as the: Foodbank, Don’t Lose Hope, Little Miracles, Sue Ryder home and Bourne Lions.
As Chairman of Trustees for Bourne Foodbank and Community support officer for Bourne Lions, I cannot thank Danny enough for his time, effort and commitment which he put in to accomplish this task. From my own experience, it is by no means an easy task, coming home to a warm house from a day’s work to go back out in the cold again.
Danny experienced some very bitter cold, rainy days and covered between 70 to 100 miles during his venture, but I’m equally sure, Danny felt a sense of satisfaction witnessing the joys and smiles which he brought to us all. We are hoping to recruit Danny into the Bourne Lions pride! So watch out, hopefully Danny will be on our sleigh this year.
